The Soul Food Team at Orchard is best described as “love in action.” Soul Food is a ministry which shows love to, and through, the church with food. Volunteers serve families who have or are going through life changes by providing them a meal. In the past, major life events have included: The birth or adoption of children, help after surgery or sickness, and occasionally providing meals support for families after a loved one’s passing.
Last year, this ministry provided between 80-100 meals for the people of Orchard Hill Church. Volunteers are asked to provide a meal once or twice a year. Meals can range from casseroles, to lasagna to take-out. Anything is welcomed and appreciated!
We are looking for additional people to be a part of our cook teams; here are ways to get involved:
- Stop by the Welcome Center and fill out a Soul Food Volunteer form.
- Donate money to this ministry.
