Just as we set aside time to spiritually prepare for Christmas and the coming of Jesus during Advent, Lent is a time that offers us an opportunity to prepare for the reality of Jesus’ death and resurrection. During Lent we are encouraged to come to terms with the human condition and our need for a Savior; to examine our hearts and understand the depths of God’s love a little deeper. When we do the work of self-examination and spiritual growth, Good Friday and Easter are not just another holiday but an amazing opportunity to receive the overflowing ‘buckets’ of grace God has to offer. Besides our weekend services focused on the book of James, we have a number of opportunities to help you prepare your hearts for Easter.
There are 50 college students who will be traveling to Jamaica, a multigenerational group of 14 will be serving with our partners at UCI in Haiti, and about 40 high school students and college-aged leaders will travel to God’s Mountain in Rushville, Missouri. All in all, we will send more than 100 students and adults to serve at 3 destinations in the next couple of weeks! We hope you will participate in these Lenten growth opportunities, and join us in praying for the safety and kingdom impact of the mission trips in the coming weeks.
