Stories of God at Work
Over the last few weeks, there have been some amazing happenings in the life of Orchard Hill Church!
On a grand scale, The Gathering; the celebrations of baptisms in Grundy Center and Cedar Falls; Leadership Huddles in Cedar Falls, Grundy Center, and Waverly; the fall starts to our student and kids ministries across our campuses; a variety of group events; and a number of Life groups forming or reforming have been fertile soil to see God at work as we seek to be a church on mission together in multiple locations.
In addition to some of these more visible ministry happenings, God has been at work in the midst of our many partnerships as well. In particular, we want to highlight the Walnut Neighborhood of Waterloo.
We just completed our 8th year of Picnic in the Park. This simple act of service and hospitality has been a great place for conversation and witness. Also, our nonprofit partner, Link, and its social enterprise, Try Pie, continue to expand their influence. Try Pie is looking to take some important steps to grow its business and ministry potential. Under Laura Hoy’s leadership, Link has continued to demonstrate redemptive influence and presence. Link has been a key voice in a new housing project and other development in the neighborhood, while working to keep the wider body of Christ a unified presence and leader in the community. We are grateful to see God at work in some very tangible and practical ways.
All across our church body, there are some terrific stories of God at work in our ministries and in individual lives! Where are you seeing God at work? Please let us know! And don’t be afraid to bear witness to our ‘broken world.’ People everywhere need to know that God is still moving and working to redeem our world.
Thanks for being on this grand adventure with us!
