Preschool Staff
Lynn Doyle, OHC Preschool Director, will be teaching
Monday – Friday
mornings in the preschool while completing administrative duties
in the afternoons. Lynn and her family are active members of OHC.
She has earned her B.A. in Elementary Education from Nicholls State
University in Thibodaux, LA and her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction
for Elementary Education from UNI. She has several years experience
teaching elementary students in New Orleans, LA. In addition, she
wrote curriculum and taught preschool sports for a couple of years
in Naperville, IL. She feels that God has placed her in the setting
to share her love of the Lord with the young children.
Deb Aalfs, long time member of OHC, comes to our preschool staff
with a B.S. in Elementary Education and a minor in Music. She currently
works for the Waterloo Public Library (since 1997) and prepares
story time for all ages as well as organizes the summer library
program.
She is delighted to get back into the classroom; she will serve
as an associate for the three to four year-olds on Tuesday and
Thursday
mornings. She will continue her part-time job at the library. Deb
has a strong faith and believes this is an opportunity to share
her creative gifts with young children in a Christian setting.
Jennifer (Jennie) Ferguson is a newlywed – she and David Knapp
were married on June 6th. Jennie has an A.A. from Hawkeye Community
College and will complete her B.A from UNI in Elementary Education
and Early Childhood in Dec., 2009. She has had excellent experience
working with young children; she said, “Children are my ministry,” along
with building relationships with families. She attends Prairie Lakes
Church. Jennie will be the “lead” teacher on Tuesdays
and Thursdays, and she will assist Lynn on Mondays, Wednesdays, and
Fridays. Jennie has an amazing faith story and a deep love for God.
Erin Miller and her husband have been OHC volunteers in our Jr.
High CHAOS program. She has a B.A. in Elementary Education and
is working
on a Master’s of Elementary Education from UNI. Erin will be
an associate for the preschool on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and she
will continue to substitute teach in the Cedar Falls School system.
Erin’s faith has grown during her college years, especially
through FCA and mission experiences. Erin says she cares deeply about
educating children; she believes she can think fast on her feet,
she’s flexible, and is a dedicated worker.
