Stitches From the Heart/Knitting for Peace (Rm 804 – Big House) 
Anyone who knits or crochets (or would like to learn) is welcome.

Beginning October 12:
Revelation Bible study –(Sanctuary, Rm 104) led by Bruce Adkins. This class will not meet the first Sunday of each month.

The Jesus Creed: 7 Conversations on Loving God & Loving Others -- (The Commons –Room 113) Begins January 11

What was spiritual formation like during the time of Jesus?  Scot McKnight, author of “40 Days of Living The Jesus Creed,” points out that early Christians didn’t sing in the choir or go to weekly Bible studies, and yet they matured inwardly in relationship with God as well as outwardly in their relationships with each other.  How did this happen?

For 7 weeks, we will explore and discuss how Jesus transformed an ancient, simple statement of faith from the Old Testament into a focal point for spiritual maturity.  According to the Jesus Creed (found in Mark 12:29-31), loving God and loving others are the greatest commandments.

Using short DVD teachings from Scot McKnight and group teaching and discussion led by Doug Tensen & Bruce Adkins, we’ll explore biblical themes important to every Christian:

•What are you living for?
•What has God called you to become?
•How is God calling you to compassion?
•What happens when followers of Jesus fail?

Join us as we explore how to mature following the model that Jesus provided for his first followers.

Nursery
Amanda Akkerman & Jen Freed
This ministry provides childcare to infants while parents attend worship. The purpose is to give parents some much needed worship time without distractions. We provide a place where parents can feel comfortable leaving their children for an hour each Sunday. The nursery is open each Sunday at 9:45 am and 11:00am in Grundy Center (3 doors down from the theatre to the south).

Pre-K - 5th Great Adventure

Student Ministry

GC Junior High CHAOS
Meets Wednesdays at 7:00 pm in the Farm Bureau Building. All junior high students are welcome!

GC Senior High
Meets Wednesdays at 6:30 pm at Dr. Rohler’s office (509 G Ave, GC). All senior high students are welcome.  Contact Natalie Kracht or Stefanie Rohler for more info.

Women’s Wednesday Opportunities
Both groups meet at the Brost’s home (504 10th St, GC).  Please call Jennifer at 319-825-4551 with questions:

Play n’ Share for moms—Wednesdays, 10:00-11:30 am.  Moms share while children are cared for.

Women’s Bible Study—Wednesdays from 7:00-8:15 pm.

Men's Bible Study
Wednesdays at 8:30pm in the Community Title Building. All men are invited!

Other Events

Volunteers Needed - Wednesday mornings for Mom's Group; Wednesday evenings for CHAOS; and Sunday mornings for set-up crew, Great Adventure, and Nursery. Contact Mike Brost (230-7601) if you can help.
